Through classroom instruction and experiential learning, the 本科 体育运动管理 Program prepares students for rewarding careers in the in the sport industry. We strive to create an environment that encourages ongoing commitment to learning, 领导, 以及社区服务. 体育运动管理 is a program area within the Department of Human Movement Sciences. This Department is dedicated to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. We prepare professionals in disciplines related to human movement and other activities for the promotion of physical, 情感, 社会福利.
The 体育运动管理 curriculum provides students with an understanding of the sport industry, an appreciation of social and ethical issues facing sport managers, and the knowledge and skills needed to work successfully in a sport business environment.
The 体育运动管理 core courses cover a variety of areas including:
- Sport marketing and sponsorships
- Fiscal planning and management
- 法律 aspects associated with sport
- Ethical and social issues in sport
- Sport facility and event operations
The curriculum also includes several required courses from the Strome College of Business such as accounting and economics. Students who major in 体育运动管理 are encouraged to obtain a minor in marketing or management, but other options are also available. The culminating course is a semester-long internship experience with a sport organization.
